OUR FOUNDER

Donald L. Perry, CIRA, LEED-AP

Managing Director

Donald Perry is an experienced financial and management consultant with a wide ranging background in commercial finance and strategtic management.

Currently, Mr. Perry is engaged in the implementation of an industry transformation and business attraction project for the Sullivan County Partnership for Economic Development and the greater Hudson Valley which he designed and created.  The project is focused on helping existing firms in the real estate and construction industry to generate new growth opportunities in the green building and sustainable development marketplace.  In addition, the project is setting the stage for the attraction of new businesses and the creation of a green building products manufacturing and distribution cluster in the region to take advantage of growth opportunities in Cleantech and renewable energy development. Mr. Perry is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED - AP), a founding member of the Hudson Valley Branch of the Upstate New York Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council.

Prior to forming Shiva’s Karma, LLC, Mr. Perry was Executive Vice President, Finance of Wyndhurst Associates, LLC, a Baltimore-based financial restructuring firm, where he was involved in complex financial and operational restructurings for firms in a wide range of industries. He formulated private offering memoranda and made presentations to private equity and hedge funds on behalf of closely-held clients, oversaw financial and organizational restructurings, and obtained new funding for clients. Mr. Perry has also served as a court-appointed Receiver. He has been active in turnaround and crisis management for over eight years and is a Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor (CIRA).

Mr. Perry co-founded Pine Cobble Financial Corp. (“PCF”), a commercial finance company focused on fast-growing entrepreneurial businesses serving large corporate and government accounts. He raised the senior debt and equity capital for PCF, and guided the firm to $110 million in annual factoring volume. Simultaneously, Mr. Perry founded a strategic management consulting practice providing services to PCF's clients and other businesses. He served as consultant and advisor to emerging growth companies focusing on turnaround management, mergers and acquisitions, business process re-engineering, corporate finance and organizational development. He has worked extensively with manufacturing and distribution firms and in such diverse industries as apparel, construction, textiles, aerospace, environmental remediation, real estate development, business services, retail and restaurant services.

Prior to forming PCF, Don Perry worked as a commercial lending officer, a domestic and international capital markets trader, and as a foreign exchange trader, for Morgan Guaranty Trust Company, National Australia Bank, Sanwa Bank California and Bank of America. He served domestic and international clients ranging up to $50 billion in revenues. He also developed commercial loan portfolios with total commitments in excess of $215 million, and established trading operations with assets in excess of $750 million.

He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Development Economics from Williams College. He received a Masters in Business Administration in Strategic Management from the Peter F. Drucker Center, Claremont Graduate University. He has served as an Adjunct Professor of Corporate Finance at Webster University, and as an Adjunct Professor of Organizational Leadership at Chapman University.

Mr. Perry has spoken and writes nationally on issues of financing businesses, marketing and strategic planning.
